For this week's post I decided to talk about how we found out we were expecting! It's nothing to exciting but makes me smile every time I think about it. But lets be honest, this whole pregnancy has made me smile...well minus the puking part... I don't think anyone really enjoys that part! LOL

We knew we wanted to be parents so we had been trying but weren't getting to crazy about it after all the process is still suppose to be fun! ; ) Plus we also decided to take a year off of big events after our wedding. The last few years had been kind of crazy and super busy with buying our house and getting married that we just wanted to take some time to enjoy life as it comes versus having a binder planning something out. (yes, I'm a binder with check lists and notes etc.)

Which brings me to the start of our story, we found out two weeks shy of our one year wedding anniversary that we were expecting which made our one year anniversary so much more special.

My period has never been one to stay on track so I've always monitored it via an app on my phone and have had a "hopeful general idea" when it would decide to show up LOL. The nice thing about the app was it also gave you a estimated ovulation week with your highest ovulation day so we had been using that as a general "hey you should probably get busy" radar (is that TMI? I think its more amusing LOL)

Any way we had decided to spend the weekend of Labor Day up at my in-laws lake house. We had decided to start the weekend out by going to Moretti's for dinner since it was close and I'm obsessed with their chopped chicken salad but while eating our french onion soup (well Greg's I had just discovered that I liked french onion soup so I stole some of his) I started getting really nauseous and almost threw up at our table. Which was weird but we didn't think anything of it really there was the glimmer of "What If?!" but we knew we had tests at home so decided to wait till we got home to try (plus morning pee is most potent! HAHA!)

Fast forward to Monday, September 1st, I woke up and opened the test packaging did my thing and left it on the counter, closed the door and walked away. We decided we'd do it together so I went downstairs and let him know the test was ...thinking?... so after a few minutes we headed up stairs to see what the results were. Being nervous cause we had thought we were pregnant before I wasn't brave enough to look at the test and see a negative so I opted to push Gregory into the bathroom and make him look it the test. He picked the test up off the counter and had this weird look on his face so I thought it was negative and said "it is negative?!" and he said "No" .:queue the holy shit I may be prego brain:. so I asked "is it positive?!" he then showed me the test and said "Yes" and I pretty much repeated the same scene from our proposal and leaped into his arms and cried.

After finally pulling myself together and taking a closer look at the test I saw it said 2-3 weeks pregnant which was another HOLY CRAP moment. I immediately texted Jess with a picture of the test freaking out. But being that I'm over cautious and couldn't believe it just yet Tuesday morning I took another test and got the same results so I knew it was time to call the doctor and by Wednesday, September 3rd we had confirmation we were going to be parents!

We then scheduled our first appointment with the obstetrician and for the first time we got to see our child on September 24th which looked more like a blob hence the "Baby Blob" nickname.

That has to be one of the best feelings I'd experienced by then and have so many more amazing experiences I've as this pregnancy continues. = ]

Four Weeks to Fifteen Weeks

I'm really enjoying having a blogging Sunday, I'm hoping I can keep this up! A cup of coffee and a keyboard to pen my thoughts!

For this week's post I decided to dive into my pregnancy so far, not only because it's great way to look back and relive the memories but I know I'm not the only first time mommy out there that feels completely clueless and has that constant nagging thought: "Uh-oh what did I get myself into?! Am I really going to know what to do?!" First off this is common for all mommies to be and even second time mommies!

But when I really start to think about all I have to say on just sixteen weeks into my pregnancy I realized how gynormous of a post that could be. So I'll be breaking it down into sections. So for week one of my Prego Story So Far I'm gonna talk about my great support system, something that is key to a sane and happy pregnancy! (Even though I know not all woman may get that but in my opinion at least!)

Luckily for me I have an amazing support system and no shortage of people I can reach out to if I don't know if something is normal or not. My husband has naturally been Heaven sent (as he usually is) but now that we are expecting I swear the little quirks that make me love him even more are developing even more. One that particularly sticks out in my mind is that I am no longer allowed to carry the vacuum up or down the stairs.

Our vacuum currently lives in our downstairs closet even though we only have carpet on the upper level of the house but we don't have a closet that works to keep it upstairs. But each week I make sure to vacuum, sweep and mop the house (even though I should probably do that more like twice a week living with a corgi who explodes fur constantly) but he has decided that it is too risky for me to carry the vacuum up and down the stairs so I am now barred from carrying it up or down. However every morning and evening I have to lift a tank of corgi (37lbs of adorable fluff) in and out of the bed. In a sense I understand as I am a clutz and pregnancy seems to have only added to that lol but I still think its silly but completely endearing. So while I give him a hard time about it it really makes me deliriously happy that he cares as much as he does.

My parents & in-laws have also been amazing! My Dad and Gregory are custom building all of Baby Blob's (yes, Baby DelFavero has been dubbed Baby Blob since our first ultrasound because they really did look like a blob!) furniture. I really luck out having such a handy hubby & daddy because of this Blob's room can be completely redone without having to spend a small fortune! My Mom while can normally drive me up a wall (admit it its a mother/daughter thing and totally natural) has been really cool & I've found us talking more and getting along a lot better. I feel like the pregnancy has made me realize how important family is. Greg's parents have been amazing as well! I love seeing how excited they get seeing pictures of Blob and anything that has to do with their future grandchild. This child is definitely not going to be short on the love!

Next up is my Aunt Maggie who I talk to every day and ramble on about anything and everything which more than likely has been repeated (I have a bad habit of telling someone the same story at least three times, I can't be the only one who does that?!) but doesn't complain and even comes up with great suggestions or ideas we can do for Blob.

Last but certainly not least would be Jess my dear friend who is also the author of Sparkles & Crafts who has seriously been a rock / on my speed dial the entire time! Any strange feeling, weird thought or just plain exciting thing that has come up I've gone straight to her! She's a mommy to an adorable one year old who you just want to eat and just an all around awesome woman!

That's it for this week's post! I think next week I'll talk about discovering we were pregnant!
So its kind of been a long time since I've done a post... In fact its been over a year! Whoopsy! I figured now was good as any time to update all you darlings on where I've been since I've decided to drop off the face of the earth.

I mean in truth if you follow me on social media or my other blog Nski Beauty I've been pretty active on there but I do miss being able to just write a random post of share a new recipe I've discovered. So I've decided to get back into gear.

First thing to discuss is we finally got married! September 14, 2014! I pretty much felt like a lunatic up until the moment I walked down the aisle. You never understand how insane and crazy you can get till you plan your wedding. You may not necessarily turn into Bridezilla but there are moments you have to pull her out. Plus you have to know that no matter what you do something isn't going to be like you wanted or turn out exactly like you thought however at the end of the day you are marrying your best friend and are finally beginning your lives together as one. Here's just a few of my favorite pictures from our wedding day.

Naturally being corgi parents I made sure to add a second location to our wedding so my darling Eleanor could be a part of Mommy & Daddy's big day! Which brings me to Miss Ellie Bug! She just turned two in October and gets more and more spoiled as the days go on. We spent her birthday taking her on an adventure filled day with a car ride to Petsmart for toys, Wendy's for a plain cheese burger and finally Starbucks to get her dessert with a puppacino (small cup of whip cream) out on the patio. She really is a spoiled little bug!

And now finally probably the biggest & best news of all to share with all you amazing people!

This coming May we'll be adding two more feet to our family! Yes, I am ecstatic to say we our expecting our first child! We are beyond thrilled and can't wait to see what this new adventure will bring!

So now that I've dropped that big bomb on you all I'm gonna head out and get back to finishing cleaning the house so I can curl up on the couch and maybe read a book while it continues to snow outside.
